  Kidney Stone Author  Robert R Wal  Licence  Public Domain       Jane Lambert Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (HH Judge Hacon) Well Lead Medical Co Ltd v CJ Medical Ltd [2025] EWHC 492 (IPEC) (7 March 2025) This was an action by Well Lead Medical Co Ltd. ("Well Lead") against CJ Medical Ltd ("CJ Medical") for the infringement of EP (UK) 3 760 143 B1 and a counterclaim by CJ Medical for the revocation of that patent under s.72 (1) (a) and (d) of the Patents Act 1977. The action and counterclaim were trued by His Honour Judge Hacon on 3 and 4 Feb 2025.  His Honour handed down judgment on 7 March 2025 (see Well Lead Medical Co Ltd v CJ Medical Ltd [2025] EWHC 492 (IPEC) (7 March 2025)).  By para [150] of his judgment, the learned judge held that claim 3 was valid and infringed but claim 1 was invalid for obviousness. The action and counterclaim came on for trial before Mr Jutrice Meade between 5 and 12 Feb 2021. At  para [223] of his judgment in Philip Morris Products, SA and another r v RAI Strategic Holdings, Inc and another [2021] EWHC 537 (which he handed down on 9 March 2021, the learned judge held that the patents were invalid for added matter and obviousness but had the patents been valid they would have been infringed. Author BruceBlaus   Licence CC BY 3.0   Source Wikipedia Colostomy Jane Lambert Patents Court (Nicholas Caddick QC)  Coloplast A/S v Salts Healthcare Limited [2021] EWHC 3 (Pat) (18 Jan 2021) This was an action for patent infringement and a counterclaim for revocation.  The patent in suit was  EP (UK) 2 854 723  for a comfort layer for a collecting bag and the claimant, Coloplast A/S, was the patentee. Coloplast complained that Salts Healthcare Limited ( "Salts" ) had infringed the patent by marketing a product that fell within several of the claims of the patent. Salts contended that the patent was invalid for want of novelty and inventive step, insufficiency, absence of technical contribution and added matter. The action and counterclaim came on before Mr Nicholas Caddick QC  sitting as a judge of the High Court.
